Styling your Fall session

One of the things that I do like about the Fall season is the colors. There are so many beautiful colors everywhere around me each time I step out of doors, and the fragrance....oh, ever so nostalgic! I think that Fall would easily be my favorite season of the year if it weren't for the simple fact that six months of winter follow. : )

When thinking about what to wear for your Fall session, don't be afraid to add pops of color. It's still best to avoid very bold patterns and neons, but the more subtle colors of fall will blend wonderfully and give a very rich, cohesive look to your portraits. Here's an example of one of the many combinations that you could do for a family session. All these items can be found at OldNavy.

The "S" Family....

It was an absolutely gorgeous day in Petoskey, MI...one of the last few such days that we would be blessed with this summer. The "S" Family was so much fun to meet and get to know. They have three adorable children who I had the privilege to get to know just a tiny bit! Here's just a peak! Enjoy!

Baby Isaac and the T Family

We had such a blast with this family during their session! Benny and Laura are the sweetest couple and so accommodating. I had soooooooo much fun shooting their session and during the editing process. The T Family also happens to be one of those families who simply cannot take a bad picture if they tried! Their son, Isaac, is TOO adorable and behaved so well, despite the fact that I had a camera stuck in his face for much of the time we were at their house. : ) Such a happy, relaxed baby!

Laura has decorated their home so wonderfully that I could not resist taking some pictures of the decor around the home as well. Thank you, T Family for allowing us into your home and your hospitality! : )

Isaac did let me know when he was ready for a break!

Absolutely LOVE the colors that Laura has used in their home!

So precious!

The 'S' Family

I was thrilled to be given the opportunity to have a session with our friends, the 'S' Family. They are the cutest family and very good friends so we had a wonderful time during the shoot. My entire family tagged along since we were on a tight schedule and had a birthday party after. The 'S' Family children have a photographer's dream eyes.....the clearest blue you can imagine! Gorgeous family all-around! Enjoy!

No, this isn't one of the children! It's one of their feeder piglets. My girls had a wonderful time with them.

Beau, the family dog had to get involved as well. : )

Kelaiah and Jeremiah V.

ilThese two little cuties were such a blessing to photograph! They have perfect skin and the most gorgeous blue eyes! Something that I don't get to play around with much with my dark-eyed beauties. : )

Jeremiah was full of information for me on which superheroes are his favorite (from what I understand, that would be all of them), and little Miss Kelaiah was extremely curious about the world around her. I hope that you enjoy viewing their pics as much as I did taking them! Enjoy!

Levi Trey...

Is absolutely precious! I had so much fun shooting and editing this session. Newborns are more hands-on and work intensive, but truly delightful! Little Levi was not at all partial to being photographed without his clothes on, but then, what baby is! The first picture, I think, summed up pretty well what he thought of the entire ordeal. Enjoy!

The Wonder of New Life - Maternity Session

You may be wondering why I chose this title for the preview of a maternity shoot since, obviously, the precious bundle is still encased in the mother's protective womb. I believe that life begins long before the first light of dawn is ever seen by those precious newborn eyes, and the wonderment of all of it never ceases to amaze me each and every time. Life is such a wonderful gift given to us by God, our Creator. I'm so thankful that he has given me the opportunity to capture the earliest moments. Enjoy!
